The brief: For my former employer Kinetic Balance Positioning Products I designed & developed a new innovative type of positioning belt that had very specific user needs to address: these belts are worn many hours per day by people with impaired hand mobility that need to constantly keep adjusting their position in the wheelchair. For this use a special push-ratchet buckle was sourced and a belt was invented for this specific purpose. Many other size, thickness and softness parameters had to be observed as well as a type of flap to cover the buckle to prevent injury.
